Lead Teacher for Children’s House

(Preschool & Kindergarten)


We are searching for an experienced Montessori-certified teacher to begin August 2024 to lead a traditional mixed-age Children's House classroom of approximately 20 children. You will have a full complement of Montessori materials as well as an extremely supportive Montessori-trained administration. We very rarely have a lead teacher opening, but in this instance, a founding teacher, who has been with us for 26 years, is retiring. You will also have experienced assistants who have been part of the school for many years.

Qualifications:

  • Montessori primary diploma from a MACTE-accredited training program, either AMI or AMS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • First Aid & CPR certification required
  • Fluent in English, excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge and implementation of Positive Discipline strategies in classroom as well as professional development or some experience in sensory integration and neurodivergence
  • Must have a deep understanding of the Montessori method and feel comfortable speaking to families about how Montessori education creates the ideal environment for learning and why
  • Must be outgoing and positive, at ease with families & delivering parent education, have a wonderful sense of humor, be able to 'go with the flow,' and able to help train assistants effectively
  • Competitive salary according to experience and credentials.

  • Opportunity to work summers in Montessori-based summer program for extra pay, however this is not a job requirement

Substitute Teacher for Infant-Toddler Program


A substitute must demonstrate strong classroom management experience and the confidence to direct the classroom in a positive and fun way, representing our school in a professional manner at all times. They must have a positive attitude and be a team player. You can sub as little or as many hours as fits your schedule!

Qualifications:

  • Dedication to the Montessori philosophy, positive discipline, and demonstrates a love for children and education
  • Starting pay is $15 per hour, or more depending on certifications and experience.
  • EEC preferred but not required
  • First Aid & CPR certification required

Substitute Teacher for Children’s House & Elementary Classrooms (Preschool through 6th grade)


Starting out as a substitute teacher is a great way to get your foot in the door at Keystone. It’s a great way to learn and grow as a teacher, learn about Montessori philosophy, and work in a professional environment with staff who are committed to early childhood education. You can sub as little or as many hours as fits your schedule. Additionally, if you prefer to work with a particular age group, that’s fine too!

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children
  • Understanding of the Montessori philosophy – preferred, but not required
  • EEC Certification – preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of each child
  • Starting pay is $15 per hour, or more depending on certifications and experience.
  • First Aid & CPR certification required
